He trusted one of the accused because they had known each other for many years.
The man was then allegedly asked to pay money for paperwork, verification and other expenses.
He paid nearly ₹49 lakh in total.
The promised ₹50 crore loan was never given.
When he asked for his money back, the accused allegedly threatened to kill him.
He returned to Pune because he feared for his safety.
Police have registered a case against three people and are investigating the allegations.
