The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) gave the green light for Patanjali Ayurved and the Dharampal Satyapal Group to buy Magma General Insurance.

Patanjali will own about 74% of the company, while the Dharampal Satyapal Group will own about 25%.

The approval was issued on July 28, 2026, and is valid for three months while the share transfer is finished.

Magma General Insurance was started in 2009 and offers motor, health, property, and commercial insurance.

In the last financial year, it earned about 3,615 crore rupees in premiums and has a net worth of 1,234 crore rupees.
