AI Tools Enhance TB, Diabetes Care in India
The Indian government is using artificial intelligence (AI) to improve healthcare for tuberculosis (TB) and diabetes.
They have set up special centers at AIIMS Delhi, PGIMER Chandigarh, and AIIMS Rishikesh to develop and use AI tools.
One tool, called MadhuNetrAI, helps detect a diabetes-related eye problem called Diabetic Retinopathy by looking at pictures of the retina.
This tool has been used in 38 places across 11 states and has helped over 7,100 patients.
Another tool, 'Cough against TB,' helps find TB in the community and has screened over 1.62 lakh people.
