IAS Officer Arrested in KPSC Veterinary Exam Irregularities Case
Officials are investigating suspected problems in an examination for veterinary officers.
The exam was organized by the Karnataka Public Service Commission.
Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar used to be the commission’s Controller of Examinations.
Investigators questioned him on Friday and Saturday.
They said he did not cooperate enough and that some of his answers were inconsistent.
He was then arrested and sent to judicial custody.
A court is expected to consider whether investigators can question him further.
The Enforcement Directorate is separately examining possible money laundering connected to the alleged exam problems.
IAS officer Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar was arrested in the alleged KPSC Veterinary Officers examination irregularities case.
He was questioned by the CID on Friday and Saturday after receiving an investigation notice.
Officials said he was arrested for allegedly not cooperating and for inconsistencies in his statements.
The investigation examines examination records, OMR sheets, question-paper handling, mark manipulation and possible involvement of other officials.
Gangwar was produced before a magistrate, remanded to judicial custody and taken to Parappana Agrahara prison; the ED is conducting a separate probe.
