Jaglan wins maiden Coal India Open title with final-round 64
Shubham Jaglan is a young golfer from Panipat in India.
He just won his very first big professional tournament, the Coal India Open.
The tournament was played at the Tollygunge Club in Kolkata.
Heavy rain meant the event had to be shortened to just 54 holes.
On the final day, Shubham played brilliantly and scored a six-under 64.
He started the day four shots behind the leader, so he needed a very good round.
He made an eagle and six birdies to catch up.
On the very last hole, he made a birdie to win by two shots.
His dad, Jagpal Jaglan, carried his golf bag and cheered him on.
Shubham won Rs 15 lakh and moved up the rankings.
Shubham Jaglan claimed his maiden professional title with a final-round six-under 64 at the second edition of the Rs 1 crore Coal India Open at Tollygunge Club, Kolkata.
He finished at 14-under 196, two shots clear of runner-up Jamal Hossain, who ended at 12-under 198 after an even-par 70.
The tournament was reduced to 54 holes after heavy rain disrupted the second round; the fourth round was cancelled and the third round served as the final round.
Starting tied fifth and four shots behind, the 21-year-old from Panipat erased the deficit with an eagle, six birdies and two bogeys, sealing victory with a birdie on the 18th.
The win lifted Jaglan from 26th to 14th in the DP World PGTI Rankings, earned him Rs 15 lakh, and came with his father Jagpal Jaglan caddying for him.
