SBI Clerk Recruitment 2026: Applications Open for 9,766 Posts

The State Bank of India, one of the biggest banks in the country, is hiring almost 10,000 new clerks to help customers.

A clerk is someone who helps people at the bank with forms, accounts and other services.

Anyone who has finished college can apply, and students in their final year can also try as long as they finish their degree by December 31, 2026.

Applicants must be between 20 and 28 years old, though people from groups like OBC, SC and ST get extra years of age relaxation.

You can send your application online from August 11 until August 31, 2026.

Most news reports say the bank is filling about 10,000 jobs, although one report gives a different, smaller number.

To get the job, you first pass a preliminary exam in September, then a main exam in November, and finally a test in the local language of the state you chose.

The application fee is Rs 750 for most candidates, but it is free for SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen candidates.

New clerks start with a basic salary of Rs 26,730, and after allowances and deductions the take-home pay is about Rs 39,529 a month.

You can only apply for one state, and you should know that state's local language.
