Government Seeks Public Support for Village Digital Infrastructure
The government has created a programme called DAANVEER to help village offices get computers.
People and organisations can donate a computer to an approved Gram Panchayat.
They can use the Meri Panchayat App to choose a village that needs one.
The app sends them to DigiHaat, where they can select and pay for a computer bundle.
The delivery details are filled in automatically.
Donors can track the computer until the village receives it.
Afterward, they receive a digital certificate thanking them.
The computers can help villages manage records, money, planning and public services.
The Ministry of Panchayati Raj has invited citizens and organisations to become DAANVEERs by donating computers to verified Gram Panchayats.
Donors can select eligible Panchayats through the Meri Panchayat App and complete purchases on the ONDC-enabled DigiHaat marketplace.
Standardised computer bundles, digital payments, automatic delivery details and real-time order tracking are provided.
Donated computers are intended to support digital governance, planning, financial management, record-keeping and citizen services.
As of August 27, 2026, 75 donations had been made, while more states were onboarding eligible Gram Panchayats.
