Indian badminton player Lakshya Sen has made it to the quarterfinals of the Kumamoto Masters Japan tournament.

He played a match on Thursday against Jia Heng Jason Teh from Singapore and won easily in two games, 21-13 and 21-11.

This win means Lakshya will now play against Loh Kean Yew, a former world champion, in the next round.

However, another Indian player, HS Prannoy, was defeated by Denmark's Rasmus Gemke in his second-round match.

Prannoy lost in straight games as well.

Sen is ranked 15th in the world and was seeded seventh in the tournament.
