West Bengal Bakers Raise One-Pound Bread Price by Rs 4

Bread is a food that many people eat every day.

In a place called West Bengal in India, bread is made by many small bakeries.

These bakeries have to buy things like flour, sugar, and oil to make bread.

Lately, these ingredients have become more expensive.

So the bakeries decided they needed to charge more money for their bread.

A group called the West Bengal Bakers' Association said the price of one loaf of bread would go up by 4 rupees.

The loaf used to cost 32 rupees and now costs 36 rupees.

Bigger bread brands had already raised their prices before the small bakeries did.

The bakeries are telling shop owners to explain the new price to customers.

They hope people will understand why bread costs a little more now.
