Godavari River Nears First Flood Warning Level, Authorities Alert

The Godavari River in India is getting very full because of a lot of rain.

The water level is almost high enough to be a warning that a flood might happen.

The river’s big dam, called the Sir Arthur Cotton Barrage, is letting a lot of water go out into the sea.

The state government has told people in six districts to be careful and has sent special teams to help if there is a flood.

They also set up phone lines so people can call for help.

The river flows out through three places: Antarvedi, Bodasakurru, and Yanam.

The officials are watching the river closely to keep everyone safe.
