IIT Madras, CAMS Renew Partnership to Boost FinTech Innovation
IIT Madras is a big university in India, and CAMS is a company that helps with money and financial services.
These two partners decided to work together even more closely.
They already run a special lab called CIFIL, which was started in 2022.
The lab is a place where people come up with new ideas for banking, payments and other money services.
Now, the lab wants to work on things like smart computers, digital payments, and keeping online money safe.
They will also explore blockchain, cybersecurity, and helping more people use financial services.
The two groups signed a new agreement called an MoU on August 12, 2026.
The signing happened at the university campus in Chennai.
By working together, the university and the company hope to make India's digital financial system stronger.
IIT Madras and Computer Age Management Services (CAMS) signed a new MoU on August 12, 2026 to expand their FinTech collaboration.
The initiatives will run through the CAMS IIT Madras FinTech Innovation Lab (CIFIL), established in 2022 as part of CAMS' CSR initiatives.
The next phase will focus on AI in financial services, digital payments, blockchain and tokenisation, cybersecurity, Regulatory Technology, WealthTech, InsurTech, digital lending, data analytics and financial inclusion.
The partnership combines CAMS' expertise in financial technology and financial services with IIT Madras' academic and research capabilities to promote innovation in the BFSI sector.
CIFIL will expand its research portfolio, develop intellectual property, facilitate technology transfer and create opportunities for commercialisation of research-led solutions.
