Born in 1933 in Machilipatnam, he entered theatre through RASANA Samakhya under K. Venkateswara Rao.
During a six-decade career, he acted in numerous plays and performed in more than 1,000 shows.
His notable plays included Keertiseshulu, Kanakapushyaragam, Ragaragini, Dongaveeradu and Maro Mohenjo-daro.
His honours included the Andhra Pradesh Government’s Kandukuri Theatre Award in 2017 and the Natanacharya title in 2008.
