Two brothers who were still children — one was about 14 years old and the other about 12 years old — were found in a pond in a village called Choudad, in Jharkhand state in India.

Sadly, they had drowned and were no longer alive.

After someone told the police, officers rushed to the pond right away.

With the help of local villagers, the police pulled the boys' bodies out of the water.

The police do not yet know how the two boys reached the pond or what happened before.

A police officer named Prashant Kumar said the exact cause of their deaths will only be known after receiving the post-mortem report, which is a doctor's examination.

The officer said the truth will come out in that report.

Until then, the police are still trying to understand how this tragedy happened.
