Police have opened a case against a man named S Shivakumar.

He is accused of putting up Independence Day posters without permission.

The posters showed Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar and minister Krishna Byre Gowda.

They were found on public structures in Vidyaranyapura.

Officials discovered them during an inspection on Wednesday evening.

The man reportedly said he supported Gowda and put up the posters to please him.

Officials said unauthorized posters make public places look untidy.

They also said civic workers must spend time removing them instead of doing other work.
