IIM Guwahati Launches First MBA Batch
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Guwahati has started its first Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme.
The first batch has 52 students from 18 different states.
Classes are being held at a temporary campus in Assam while the permanent campus is being built.
The Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, said this is a big step for the institute and will help students from the Northeast and all over India.
The government has been supporting the growth of IIMs across the country, and there are now 22 IIMs.
The Chief Minister also thanked the Prime Minister and the Union Education Minister for their support.
The goal is to make sure that students from Assam can get into top national institutions in the future.
