Farhan Akhtar says fan demand drove 'Mirzapur' movie adaptation
Mirzapur is a popular show people watch on Prime Video, a streaming service.
Farhan Akhtar, one of the people who makes the show, said fans loved it so much that they always asked for more.
Because of all that love and demand, the makers decided to turn the show into a movie.
The movie is called 'Mirzapur: The Movie' and has the same director, Gurmmeet Singh, who made the show.
Many actors from the show are back, including Ali Fazal and Pankaj Tripathi.
New actors are joining too, like Ravi Kishan, who plays the bad guy.
Jitendra Kumar will play a character named Bablu Pandit, which another actor, Vikrant Massey, played in the show.
The story is about a powerful mafia boss named Kaleen Tripathi in a lawless city in Uttar Pradesh.
The movie will come out in theaters on September 4.
