P T Usha to Lead Rally in Kolkata for Vande Mataram Celebrations
P T Usha, a famous Indian athlete, will lead a big parade in Kolkata.
This parade is part of a two-day event to celebrate 150 years since a famous song, Vande Mataram, was written.
The song was written by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay.
On January 5, there will be three smaller parades that will end at a special house where a big light will be lit.
On January 6, P T Usha will lead a big parade from that house to a famous building called Victoria Memorial Hall.
Many famous singers will also be there to sing Vande Mataram in different Indian languages.
The governor of the state and the Ministry of Culture are helping to organize these events.
P T Usha is expected to lead a rally in Kolkata as part of a two-day program commemorating 150 years of Vande Mataram.
The events will be held on January 5 and 6, 2026, and will include rallies and cultural programs.
Three rallies will culminate at Jorasanko Thakurbari on January 5, where an 'Akhand Jyoti' (eternal flame) will be lit.
On January 6, the Akhand Jyoti will be taken in a rally led by P T Usha to Victoria Memorial Hall.
Celebrity singers will participate in a cultural program at Victoria Memorial, singing Vande Mataram in multiple Indian languages.
