13 Child Labourers Rescued From Kandivali Imitation Jewellery Unit
Police found 13 boys working at a jewellery-making unit in Kandivali West.
The boys were between 13 and 17 years old.
Police said they were making imitation jewellery and bangles.
They allegedly worked for nine to 10 hours each day.
They were also allegedly not paid proper wages.
The unit’s owner and operator were detained.
Police said the adults could not show valid documents proving the children’s ages.
The children were taken into the care of authorities.

Charkop Police rescued 13 boys aged 13 to 17 from a Kandivali West imitation jewellery unit on August 18.
Police said the boys were allegedly making imitation jewellery and bangles at Zahra Fashion Era.
The minors were allegedly working nine to 10 hours daily without proper wages and were staying at the workplace.
Owner Ankit Kumar Mahendra Rawal and operator Saminur Motiar Rahman Sheikh were detained for questioning and legal action.
A case was registered under the Juvenile Justice Act and Child and Adolescent Labour laws, while authorities took custody of the children.
