Spider-Man: Brand New Day $140M+; One Night Only Tops Previews
Box Office: 'One Night Only' Tops Previews, 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' Eyes $140M+ · deadline.com

Two new movies are opening in theaters this weekend.

One is a superhero movie starring Tom Holland and Zendaya, called Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and it is having a huge run at the box office.

It reached $500 million in ticket sales faster than any movie ever has — in just seven days, even quicker than Avengers: Endgame.

The other new movie, One Night Only, is a romantic comedy about two New Yorkers looking for love.

It earned the most money in special early preview showings.

Reviewers did not like it very much, but the studio hopes regular audiences will turn it into a hit.

Two more movies are also opening: a comedy called Super Troopers 3 and a scary movie called Ice Cream Man.

Spider-Man is expected to stay number one, but other studios hope the big audiences it attracts will help their movies too.

For movie fans, it is an exciting weekend to go to the theater.
