Naidu to Press Centre on Pending Andhra Bifurcation Issues
Andhra Pradesh was divided in 2014, creating the separate state of Telangana.
Twelve years later, some questions about money, property and institutions are still unsettled.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu plans to discuss these questions at an important meeting.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will lead the meeting.
Naidu wants the Centre to help finish dividing institutions, assets and liabilities.
He also wants pending financial issues, such as the state’s revenue gap and tax matters, resolved.
Several infrastructure projects linked to the reorganisation are also awaiting progress.
These include a port, metro projects, railways, airports and industrial corridors.
Naidu is expected to ask for quicker approvals and funding.

The meeting, chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, will take place in Mahabalipuram on Thursday.
Naidu is expected to seek action on institutions, assets, liabilities, revenue gaps and taxation matters involving Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
He will request faster approvals, funding and central assistance for projects including Dugarajapatnam Port and the Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada Metro.
Chief ministers from five southern states and Puducherry’s Lieutenant Governor or Administrator are expected to attend.
