Bengaluru Cop Ordered to Compensate UK Citizen for Wrongful Detention

Imagine a man from the UK, Krishna, was about to fly to London, but police stopped him at the airport in Mumbai.

This was because of an old case.

Even though a court had already said he didn't have to be worried about that case, the police held him.

Because of the delay, he missed his flight.

He complained, and the Human Rights Commission agreed the police were wrong.

They said the police officer in charge must pay Krishna money to make up for what happened, including the cost of his missed flight ticket.
