Kirloskar Brothers Shares Slip After Supreme Court Orders Arbitration
Kirloskar Brothers is involved in a long-running disagreement among members of the Kirloskar family.
The Supreme Court has decided that the disagreement should be examined by a special arbitration panel.
Two judges have been chosen to nominate members of that panel.
A third arbitrator will also be appointed.
The panel will meet in Pune.
The court said the panel must first decide some important legal questions, including whether people who did not sign the family agreement are covered by it.
Investors were cautious, and the company’s share price fell 1.22% on Tuesday.
The company said it does not yet know how much money the legal proceedings could affect.

The decline followed disclosure of an August 11 Supreme Court order concerning a long-running family dispute.

Justice Nitin Madhukar Jamdar and Justice K.R. Shriram were appointed as nominee arbitrators, with Pune as the arbitration seat.
