Andhra Pradesh Plans Cheaper Onions and Essential Commodities
Andhra Pradesh wants to make several everyday food items cheaper.
The government plans to sell onions for ₹32 per kilogram.
People will be able to buy them at 115 Rythu Bazaars and from mobile counters.
Red gram dal will also be sold at a discount with ration supplies.
The discount will be 25–30% below market prices.
The state plans to open 1,000 Mee Mart stores that will sell 64 kinds of essential goods.
Rice distributed through the ration system will contain less broken rice.
Farmers are expected to receive payment for procured paddy within 24 hours.
The minister also discussed palm oil supplies, LPG booking rules, and food procurement with central officials.
Andhra Pradesh will sell onions at ₹32 per kilogram starting next week through 115 Rythu Bazaars and mobile counters.
Subsidized red gram dal will be sold alongside rations at 25–30% below market prices for four to five months.
The government plans to launch 1,000 Mee Mart stores by October 1, with 870 already prepared to sell 64 essential commodities.
Paddy farmers will continue receiving procurement payments within 24 hours, while the state prepares to procure 37–38 lakh metric tonnes.
Nadendla Manohar also discussed palm oil prices, improved PDS rice quality, LPG re-booking rules, and his Delhi meetings.
