Truck Accidents Kill Seven, Injure 23 in India
Two separate truck accidents in India have resulted in a total of seven deaths and 25 injuries.
On January 31, a dumper truck hit a passenger car on National Highway-6 in Sribhumi, killing two people and injuring 17 others who were part of a singing group.
The truck driver initially fled but later turned himself in.
On February 3, a truck ran over three motorcycles on National Highway-16 in Ganjam district, killing five people and critically injuring eight others.
The truck driver in this incident also fled but was later arrested.
The injured from both accidents were taken to nearby hospitals.
The Chief Minister of Odisha has announced compensation for the families of the victims in the second accident.
