People in Jalgaon worked together to clean schools.

Women’s groups, young people and government officials joined the effort.

They cleaned 1,816 Zilla Parishad schools.

Classrooms, school grounds and restrooms were included.

Nearby public places were also cleaned.

The activity was a voluntary labour drive, known as shramdan.

The idea came from Zilla Parishad CEO Karishma Nair.

District Collector Rohan Ghuge and education officer Nilesh Patil also helped.

Villagers said the schools looked much better afterward.
