Malaysia has stopped three shipping containers that were traveling toward Israel.

The containers were held at the Port of Tanjung Pelepas on Aug.

Their cargo was described as electric-bike parts made by a Chinese company.

Malaysia had also stopped another container earlier in August.

That earlier shipment was suspected of carrying weapons for an Israeli defense company.

Malaysia does not have diplomatic or trade relations with Israel.

Its rules ban direct imports and exports with Israel but make an exception for goods merely passing through the country.

Officials are investigating the shipments and have not said whether they will be released.
