Three More Held in Sumanth Extortion Case Investigation
Police in Hyderabad have detained three more people in an alleged extortion case.
The case involves Sumanth, a former officer who worked with minister Konda Surekha.
A realtor named Gongidi Harikrishna complained that he was held against his will and attacked.
He said the group demanded ₹10 crore from him.
Police said the alleged attack happened at an office in Jubilee Hills on August 20.
Harikrishna reportedly suffered a broken left hand and other injuries.
His friend Kiran was present and helped call the police.
The newly detained people were sent to Jubilee Hills police for more investigation.
Khairatabad Task Force police detained three more people in Martur, Bapatla district, over the alleged extortion case.
The detainees were identified as Arun Kumar, Mutyala Mahendar Reddy and Kartik.
Realtor Gongidi Harikrishna alleged that Sumanth and associates confined, assaulted and demanded ₹10 crore from him.
Police said Harikrishna was called to an office in Jubilee Hills on August 20 and allegedly attacked with an iron rod.
The three detainees were handed over to Jubilee Hills police for further investigation.
