Samatha state conference elects new committee for women's wing
A big meeting for Samatha took place in Visakhapatnam.
Samatha is a group for women that is part of a bigger science and awareness group called Jana Vignana Vedika.
About 200 women came to the meeting from different parts of Andhra Pradesh.
At the meeting, they chose a new team of leaders.
M. Swaroopa was chosen as the state president for the entire group.
Leelamma became the general secretary, and Sandhya Rani became the treasurer.
A retired judge named G Radha Rani came as the chief guest.
The leaders said women should stay united.
They want to teach more people and run more helpful programs across the state.
Samatha, the women's wing of Jana Vignana Vedika, held its state-level conference at the Guntur Natural Hospital in Visakhapatnam.
Around 200 women from Andhra Pradesh districts including Kadapa, Anantapur, Nellore, Kurnool, Srikakulam and Gumma Lakshmipuram participated.
M. Swaroopa of Vizianagaram district was unanimously elected state president, with Leelamma as general secretary and Sandhya Rani as treasurer, along with 17 other members.
Retired High Court judge and Jana Vignana Vedika founder G Radha Rani attended the conference as chief guest.
Leaders called for greater unity among women and expansion of awareness programmes and social activities through Samatha across the state.
