India Expands E-Visa Entry To 88 Ports Including Attari

India has a system called e-visa that lets visitors from other countries get permission to visit online.

Now, India is letting e-visa travelers enter through even more places, 88 in total.

One of the new places is a border crossing called Attari.

The government announced this just before India's Independence Day.

Officials said the new entry points were added during the year, starting on January 1, 2026.

Most e-visa applications are approved very quickly, with about 95 out of every 100 finished in under three days.

The government says this makes the e-visa program more useful for visitors.

However, people from Pakistan, or with Pakistani roots, cannot use the e-visa facility at Attari.

So the new rule helps many travelers, but not everyone.
