In July, people in India put a lot of money into mutual funds — about Rs 2.36 lakh crore.

A mutual fund is like a big shared piggy bank that many people put money into.

The month before, people had taken out more money than they put in, but in July that changed.

Most of the new money went into debt funds, which are considered safer types of funds.

Money also went into equity funds, which invest in company shares.

These equity funds have received money for 65 months in a row, which is more than five years.

Many people invest a small amount every month through a plan called a SIP, and those payments grew compared with last year.

Because of all this, the total money managed by mutual funds in India went up to Rs 85.76 lakh crore.

This shows that investors are still interested, even though they are being more careful about which funds they choose.
