Maharashtra CM orders faster land acquisition for industries
The leader of a big state in India, called Maharashtra, wants new factories to be built faster.
His name is Devendra Fadnavis, and he is the Chief Minister.
He held a meeting with government workers to talk about getting land ready for factories.
Getting land for factories is a slow job, so he told workers to hurry it up.
A computer system called MILAP helps people apply for factory plots online.
Through this system, more than one thousand factory plots were given out in less than a year.
That earned the state a lot of money.
The Chief Minister also said that if companies get land but do not start building, they could lose the land or pay a fine.
This will help Maharashtra grow and create more jobs.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis ordered officials to expedite land acquisition to ensure timely land availability for upcoming industries.
Between October 1, 2025 and July 31, 2026, 1,183 industrial plots were allocated via the 'MILAP' online platform, generating Rs 5,502 crore in revenue.
Land acquisition is underway for 66,343 acres across key districts including Gadchiroli, Nagpur, Pune, Palghar, Thane, Ratnagiri, Raigad, Nashik and Wardha.
Administrative procedures are progressing to meet demand for 75,234 acres of land required under 97 MoUs signed by the state government.
Fadnavis directed streamlined clearances, mandatory construction timelines with phased penalties, and provisions for reacquiring undeveloped plots.
