Rajasthan transfers 252 officers ahead of civic, panchayat elections
The government of Rajasthan is getting ready for big local elections.
Before elections, governments often move officials to new jobs to keep things fair.
This week, they moved 69 forest service officers and 183 administrative officers.
Many of these officers work in districts and blocks, close to where people live.
Around a dozen deputy district heads and more than 130 sub-divisional heads were given new postings.
Three officers were asked to wait for new orders.
The election commission suggested these moves before the election rules start.
Elections will be held for city councils and village councils.
The city council election dates may be announced on August 17, 2026.
Village council elections may be announced the month after.
All elections should be finished by November 15, 2026.
The Rajasthan government transferred 69 Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers in a late-night reshuffle on Monday.
A list of 183 Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officers was released on Tuesday evening.
Around a dozen Additional District Magistrates and more than 130 Sub-Divisional Magistrates were transferred.
Three SDMs were removed from their posts and placed on the Awaiting Posting Orders list.
The civic body election schedule is expected to be announced on August 17, 2026, with elections completed by November 15, 2026.
