Zee Entertainment gave Sunbright Mauritius special rights to buy company shares later.

These rights are called fully convertible warrants.

Sunbright received about 20.94 crore warrants at ₹126 each.

It paid one-fourth of the price, or about ₹659.76 crore, immediately.

It must pay the remaining ₹94.50 per warrant if it converts them into shares.

Sunbright has up to 18 months from August 21, 2026, to seek conversion.

If all the warrants become shares, Sunbright could own 17.90% of Zee Entertainment on a fully diluted basis.

The deal came after approvals while Zee and its chief executive remained involved in a dispute with SEBI over a Hyderabad property pledge.
