A consumer-confidence score is a way to measure how positive people feel about their money and the economy.
In the September comparison, India had the highest score among 17 major economies, at 66.9.
Sweden came second, while Japan had the lowest score.
A separate Ipsos reading for July also placed India at the top, with a score of 67.1.
The report compared confidence with expected inflation, or how much prices may rise.
India’s projected inflation was 4.7%, alongside its high confidence score.
Türkiye and Argentina were expected to have much higher inflation and had low confidence scores.
The figures show that inflation and people’s confidence do not always move together.
