Trinamool Leader Barun Natta Arrested With Two Associates Over Extortion
Police in West Bengal arrested Barun Natta and two associates over allegations of extortion and cheating.
Natta was formerly a vice-chairman of Dum Dum Municipality.
The complaint was made by real estate developer Sujoy Majumder.
He alleged that Natta took nearly ₹60 lakh from him between 2023 and 2024.

West Bengal Police arrested former Dum Dum Municipality vice-chairman Barun Natta and associates Nayanashis Das and Sumanta Ghosh.
Real estate developer Sujoy Majumder accused the trio of extortion and cheating in a complaint filed at Dum Dum police station.
Police sources said Majumder alleged that Natta extorted nearly ₹60 lakh between 2023 and 2024.
The complaint also alleged that Natta demanded ₹20 lakh more and that work on Majumder’s projects was subsequently stopped.
A Barrackpore court remanded the three accused to 10 days of police custody for investigation.
