Buprenorphine Abuse Spreads in Bhopal

Buprenorphine is a strong medicine used in hospitals to help people with severe pain and opioid addiction.

But in Bhopal, some people are using it as a cheap drug to get high.

Police have found that many labourers and homeless people are addicted to it because it costs only Rs 100 to Rs 150 per dose and can make them feel drunk for up to three days.

The police are trying to find the main supplier to stop this problem.

Experts say Buprenorphine is safe when used properly with a doctor's prescription, but it is illegal to sell or use it without one.
