India Reaffirms Support for Two-State Solution at UN Meeting
India said again that it supports creating two states as a way to address the Israeli-Palestinian issue.
Sibi George, an Indian foreign ministry official, shared this position at a meeting in New York.
The meeting was connected to the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
George also joined a meeting of development ministers from the G7.
He explained that India believes development should help people and strengthen countries’ own abilities.
He said development is about more than simply providing money.
India also spoke about working with other countries and changing international institutions.
It supported moving forward with a new agreement on the right to development.
India reaffirmed its clear and consistent support for the Two-State solution at a high-level meeting in New York.
Secretary (West) Sibi George represented India at the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution meeting.
George also attended the second G7 Development Ministers meeting organized by France on the sidelines of UNGA 81.
He highlighted India’s human-centric, inclusive development approach, domestic capabilities and resilience.
India supported inclusive development, international cooperation, multilateral reform and early adoption of the Covenant on the Right to Development.
