Puri Jagannath Temple Reports Rs 1,912 Crore Deposits
The Jagannath Temple in Puri has reported having about Rs 1,912 crore in bank deposits.
It also owns a large amount of land in Odisha and some other states.
The money comes from donations, investments, land-related activities, temple-owned mines and government grants.
The temple uses its regular fund to pay daily expenses.
It keeps some money in special fixed-deposit funds.
Devotees can now donate online through a platform called Samarpan.

The Puri Jagannath Temple reported total bank deposits of about Rs 1,911.80 crore as of August 31.
Of the deposits, Rs 1,311.10 crore was held in public sector banks and Rs 500 crore formed an Odisha government corpus fund.
The temple owns 60,821 acres of land, including 60,426 acres across 24 Odisha districts and 395 acres in six other states.
Its income comes from donations, temple-owned quarries and mines, fixed-deposit interest, land transactions and government grants.
An inventory of gold, diamond and other valuables in the Ratna Bhandar is underway, while officials also reported seven theft incidents over 25 years.
