Uttarakhand Final Voter Roll Published as Enrolment Drive Continues
Uttarakhand has published a new list of people who can vote.
The list has 71,58,949 voters.
It has more voters than the draft list published earlier, but fewer than the list before the revision began.
Officials will check which people were on the old list but are missing now.
They will visit some people at home and help eligible voters apply to be added.
They will also help young people voting for the first time and other eligible people who were left out.
Special camps and help desks are planned for some groups who may need extra help.
The Election Commission says this follow-up work is needed even though the final list has been published.
Uttarakhand published its final electoral roll on October 3, listing 71,58,949 electors.
The final roll added 25,164 electors compared with the July draft, but remained about 8.02 lakh below the electorate before the revision.
Booth Level Officers will compare pre-SIR and current rolls, visit identified voters, and help eligible people enrol using Form 6.
The drive will also reach first-time and young eligible voters, with BLOs asked to cover at least 20–25 identified electors weekly.
Officials said the claims-and-objections process added 1,29,872 voters and deleted 1,04,708 names according to the rules.
