Kalaburagi Police Prepare AI Cameras for Traffic E-Challans
Kalaburagi police are setting up a new system to catch traffic-rule violations.
They installed 12 smart cameras at six locations.
The cameras can identify problems such as riding without a helmet and driving too fast.
They can also detect triple riding, using a phone while driving, and not wearing a seat belt.
The system will first be tested for two to three weeks.
After the test, it may be used fully across the district.
Drivers who break the rules will receive an electronic fine, called an e-challan.
They can pay online or visit a police station.
Kalaburagi district police installed 12 AI-based cameras at six highway locations.
The cameras will detect helmet, triple-riding, mobile-phone, seat-belt and other traffic violations.
Overspeeding and driving on the wrong side will also be monitored.
The e-challan system will run on a two-to-three-week trial before full implementation.
Motorists will receive payment links on the mobile number registered with their vehicle.
