Kerala High Court Grants Bail to Palathayi Case Teacher
The Kerala High Court gave bail to KK Padmarajan, a teacher who had been sentenced to life in prison in a child sexual-assault case.

The High Court said the victim’s evidence appeared prima facie “inconsistent, embellished, improved and fanciful” and found possible infirmities in the conviction order.
The court noted differing conclusions by local police and the Crime Branch, as well as medical opinions that did not conclusively establish sexual abuse.
Bail conditions prohibit Padmarajan from entering the survivor’s district, contacting her or associates, discussing the case publicly, or leaving India without permission.
