MCD to convert 78 community halls into Ayushman Arogya Mandirs
Delhi’s civic government plans to use 78 community halls as local health centres.
These centres will be called Ayushman Arogya Mandirs.
They will provide primary healthcare closer to people’s homes.
Most centres will use only the lower floors of the halls.
Other parts of the buildings can still be booked for community activities.
Officials chose halls that were not being used very often.
The MCD approved 72 locations that already had approvals and added six more.
Delhi also plans to increase the total number of these health centres across the capital.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi will establish Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in 78 community halls across Delhi.
The facilities will mainly occupy ground-floor or ground-plus-first-floor areas, while remaining spaces stay available for public bookings.
The MCD approved existing no-objection certificates for 72 halls and approved six additional locations.
Suitable sites include areas such as Timarpur, Hakikat Nagar, Rohini and Meenakshi Garden.
The initiative supports Delhi’s plan to expand Ayushman Arogya Mandirs from 415 to 1,100 centres.
