Parliament is a big meeting place where leaders make rules for the country.

It has two parts, called the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.

When the meetings end for now, the leaders usually hold a tea party.

This is an old tradition.

This Thursday, some parties called the Congress, Trinamool Congress, and Samajwadi Party decided not to go to the Lok Sabha tea party.

These parties are part of a group called the INDIA bloc.

But a leader from the DMK party, Kanimozhi, did go to that tea party.

The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and some other ministers were there too.

In the Rajya Sabha, leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge and Sonia Gandhi did go to their tea party.

Staying away from the party is called a boycott, and it shows that the opposition parties do not all agree on how to take part in these traditions.
