Mysuru DC Invites Gavisiddeshwara Swamiji to Inaugurate Dasara
Mysuru is getting ready for its Dasara festival.
The Karnataka government chose Abhinava Gavisiddheshwara Swamiji to open the celebrations.
Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Lakshmikanth Reddy G went to Gavimath in Koppal to give him the official invitation.
The celebrations are scheduled for October 11, 2026.
Officials from Mysuru and Koppal joined the visit.
The Swamiji welcomed the visitors and offered them prasada.
The officials also learned about the large Gavisiddeshwara Jatre and its traditions.

Reddy formally invited Abhinava Gavisiddheshwara Swamiji to inaugurate Mysuru’s 2026 Dasara celebrations.
The Karnataka government had decided that the Swamiji would inaugurate this year’s festival.
The delegation included officials from Mysuru and Koppal, including Koppal DC Suresh Itnal and Zilla Panchayat CEO Varnith Negi.
Officials were briefed on the Gavisiddeshwara Jatre, which attracts many devotees and is described as the Kumbh Mela of South India.
