Andhra Pradesh plans to build a new shipyard at Dugarajapatnam.

The state government signed an agreement with MDL for the project.

The shipyard is expected to cost ₹15,000 crore.

It could provide jobs for about 45,000 people.

The facility is planned to build up to 1.2 million tonnes of ships each year.

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu witnessed the agreement signing.

The State Investment Promotion Board also discussed 29 other industrial projects.

Earlier board meetings had approved hundreds of projects and attracted large investments.
