New Bhuj-Barauni Train Approved as Jhansi-Mathura Route Extended
Indian Railways is adding a new long-distance train between Bhuj and Barauni.
It will travel through four states: Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
The train will run three times each week in both directions.
It will stop at many cities and towns along its 2,532-kilometre route.
Another train that currently runs between Jhansi and Agra will now continue to Mathura.
This change will make that route 270 kilometres long instead of 217 kilometres.
The extended train will stop at four additional stations.
Together, the changes give passengers more choices for travelling across northern, western and eastern India.
Indian Railways approved a tri-weekly Bhuj-Barauni Amrit Bharat Express covering 2,532 km.
The new service will connect Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
The Bhuj-Barauni train will stop at major locations including Ahmedabad, Kota, Mathura, Gorakhpur and Muzaffarpur.
The Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi-Agra Cantt Express will be extended to Mathura.
The extension will increase the route length from 217 km to 270 km, with four added commercial stops.
