Uttarakhand Media Delegation Visits Gevra Mine’s Coal, Green Operations

A group of journalists from Uttarakhand visited a large coal mine in Chhattisgarh.

They watched how coal is dug out and moved for use.

Mine officials showed them large machines and digital systems used in the work.

They also explained safety rules for workers.

The mine produced about 59.1 million tonnes of coal in 2023-24.

Its coal is sent to seven states.

Officials said the mine is also trying to protect the environment.

These efforts include planting trees, controlling dust, managing water and restoring used land.
