Johnny Depp’s First Sculpture The Bunnyman Debuts at Istanbul Fair
Johnny Depp has created his first sculpture, called The Bunnyman.
It is a large white bronze figure about two metres tall.
The figure is part human and part rabbit, and it carries a “sword of truth.”
Depp got the idea from a drawing made by his young son Jack.
The drawing reminded Depp of a strange dream he had repeatedly as a child.
The sculpture will be shown outdoors in Istanbul.
It will appear at Contemporary Istanbul from September 22 to 27, 2026.
Depp is also showing more than 200 artworks in a Shanghai exhibition.

Quotes
The art foundation
The foundation promoting the Contemporary Istanbul art fair and Depp’s sculpture
“Johnny Depp’s journey into creating The Bunnyman began with a simple sketch by his 5-year-old son Jack. Inspired by this innocent doodle, Johnny reimagined the figure. As the character took shape, he was reminded of a recurring childhood dream in which he saw a figure standing in the doorway to his basement, motionless, yet with a fluid sand-like aura. Weaving together these two inspirations, The Bunnyman was created.”

“When people see the painting I did — The Bunnyman — they always ask the same question: where did it come from?”
