Karnataka has reported more than 4,200 confirmed influenza cases this year.

The cases were found in 32 districts.

Health officials said this does not mean there is an unusual outbreak.

They said influenza usually rises during two seasons each year.

One rise happens between January and March.

Another happens between July and September during the monsoon.

The number of cases is lower than during the same period last year.

The health minister said hospitals have the needed supplies and medicines.
