NCPA, Teamwork Arts Present Four-Day Showcase of Indian Theatre
Some very talented people in India make plays, which are live stories acted out on a stage.
Two groups called NCPA and Teamwork Arts are working together to show some of the best plays from different parts of India.
They are putting on a four-day festival with four different plays.
Each play is in a different language, like Malayalam, Bangla, Bundeli, and Hindi, and one of them has no words at all.
The plays were chosen from very special shows that appeared at a big awards event called META.
The festival will happen from November 12 to 15 in a city called Mumbai.
Every show starts at 7 pm in the evening.
Each play celebrates a different part of India's culture and traditions.
This is a wonderful chance for people to see how many different ways stories can be told in India.
The National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai, and Teamwork Arts will host a four-day showcase of four acclaimed Indian theatre productions from November 12 to 15 at 7 pm.
The productions were curated from award-winning plays featured at the 2023, 2025, and 2026 editions of the Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards (META).
The showcase opens November 12 with 'The Old Man and the Sea – Kathakali of the Morrow,' an 80-minute Malayalam (Manipravalam) production directed by Neeraj G.M and produced by Kerala Kalamandalam.
November 13 features 'Nihsango Ishwar,' a 90-minute Bangla production directed by Suman Saha and produced by Bengal Repertory.
The event closes November 15 with 'Swang: Jas Ki Tas,' a 90-minute Bundeli and Hindi production directed by Akshay Singh Thakur and produced by Rangabharan Theatre, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.
The showcase also includes 'The Departed Dawn,' a 60-minute non-verbal production by Akhoka Theatre and Serendipity Arts, on November 14.
